1、 Introduction to vulnerable parts

(1) Conveyor belt (if it is a belt feeder)

The conveyor belt is a key component of the belt feeder. During the continuous material conveying process, it will be subjected to friction, pressure, and tension during equipment operation. For example, when conveying materials with sharp particles, it is easy to cause surface wear on the conveyor belt.

(2) Spiral blade (spiral feeder)

For spiral feeders, spiral blades are vulnerable parts. When pushing materials, strong friction is generated between the spiral blades and the material, especially when conveying viscous or hard impurities, the spiral blades are prone to wear and deformation.

(3) Hopper

During the process of receiving and guiding materials into the feeder, the bottom and edges of the hopper are easily impacted and rubbed by the materials. After prolonged use, there may be wear and tear, cracks, and other issues.

(4) Motor belt (under some driving modes)

The motor drives the operating components of the feeding machine through a belt. During the continuous power transmission process, the belt may experience wear, aging, and even breakage due to factors such as frictional heating and stretching.

2、 Replacement cycle

(1) Conveyor belt

The replacement cycle of conveyor belts depends on various factors. If it is conveying materials with generally soft texture and uniform particles, and the feeding machine works 8-10 hours a day, it may take about 1-2 years to use. But if the conveyed material is hard materials such as ore and metal particles, and the work intensity is high (working for more than 16 hours a day), it may need to be replaced in a few months.

(2) Spiral blade

In the normal transportation of general materials (such as powder and small particles), the spiral blades need to be inspected and replaced approximately every 1-1.5 years. However, when transporting materials containing a large amount of impurities and high viscosity, severe wear may occur in about six months and replacement is needed.

(3) Hopper

The replacement cycle of the hopper is relatively long. If maintained properly, it may take 3-5 years to replace when transporting ordinary materials. But if there are frequent occurrences of material accumulation, overload impact, etc., the hopper may be damaged prematurely and may need to be replaced in about 2 years.

(4) Motor belt

Under normal working conditions, the motor belt works 8-10 hours a day and needs to be replaced approximately 1-1.5 years. However, if the working environment temperature is high, humidity is high, or the motor is frequently overloaded, the lifespan of the belt will be significantly shortened, and it may need to be replaced in about six months.

Regular equipment maintenance and proper operating procedures are crucial to extend the service life of these vulnerable parts. For example, measures such as regularly cleaning impurities in materials and avoiding equipment overload operation can effectively reduce the frequency of damage to vulnerable parts.
